      Structural design of multistory building was conducted in this project. The project presents the design of a multi-functional building called Al-Safi building which is located in Nablus city – Housing for Engineers area.  It contains several stories which intended to be used for residential purposes.>

     The structural model of all structural elements were created and analyzed to have preliminary design. Preliminary dimensions are used based on conceptual design. Dimensions are verified by hand calculations. After 1-D analysis, a 3-D model was created for the building, and both results were compared. In this part of the project, the structure was analyzed under static loads. The work will be extended in the second half to be analyzed under dynamic loads. >

 

>Structural design included design of slabs, beams, columns, and footings. Complete design detailing is provided for the structural elements. The 3-D model was used to get the required flexural steel, shear stirrups, in addition to the torsional stirrups for beams and slab. In addition, the required area of steel for columns is obtained from SAP and compared with manual design.
