1.1

 project description and purpose  :

Problem of soil slope stability in Nablus city are very common due to the nature of the city that is located in a fault between two mountains. one of the most dangerous area of slope instability is that located in AL-MAKHFIA Street at the southern west part of Nablus.

This problem has been dealt with several times in the past few years without successful results.

In our study, we will try to understand the problem from its roots and solve it , this will be done by studying the soil in the area, and analyzing the situation. After all we hope to reach the best solution for this dangerous problem.

1.2 proposed solution in the study:

Since our study based on finding a solution for a soil stability problem we suggest using retaining walls supporting system as a proposed solution, and in order to understand our solution we need to define it first  :-

A retaining wall is a structure that holds back earth. Retaining walls stabilize soil and rock from down slope movement or erosion and provide support for vertical or near vertical grade change.
