This project is a structural analysis and design of a residential building in Nablus that will resist earthquake and consists of a garage at the ground floor and seven other stories.

Both static and dynamic analysis will be performed for the model.

Two methods will be used:

1- Manual design: assuming 1D model, using recommendation of ACI-08

    (Simplifying the reality).

2- (3D) _design using computer (SAP2000_14) in order to approach the actual model as  much as possible.

The building consists of eight reinforced concrete stories above the ground. The first story is a garage and has a height of 3.12m with a plan area of about 405 m² extending across all floor plan.

The other symmetrical seven-story reinforced concrete apartments have smaller area which is 283.5m² for each story making setback, and 3.12m height.

There is a shear wall in the middle of the building which includes the stairway, elevator and a service room.

The roof covers the hole used for the elevator shaft and stair wells.
