Water is the most precious natural resource and its relative scarcity is the major constraint on economic development. Water has been a major issue in the Palestinian-Israeli negotiations.

Clean drinking water is essential to humans and other life forms so it is important to have easy access to this resources, we must have clean and harmless water to humans.

There are huge quantities of water in the earth, most of them exist in the oceans, which cover 70% of the earth's surface with 1.6% of water below ground in aquifers and 0.001% in the air as vapor, clouds (formed of solid and liquid water particles suspended in air), and precipitation. Oceans hold 97% of surface water, glaciers and polar ice caps 2.4%, and other land surface water such as rivers, lakes and ponds 0.6 %.(1)

In spite of the presence of copious amounts of fresh water in the world, some areas suffer from lack of water; the rain doesn't fall evenly throughout the earth. Other areas suffer from the decreasing of water due to inefficient population management to its water sources.

Surface water and ground water is the main resources of water in the earth. In Palestine ground water is the major source of fresh water .The system of aquifers in the West Bank is divided into three main ground water drainage basins; these are the eastern, the western, and north eastern basins.(2) See figure (1). The amount of water consumed by Palestinian for domestic and agricultural purposes estimated by 287 million cubic meter.(3)
