Project Background
The project is designing of Recreation Centre in Nablus, The building contains of three floors, basement, ground floor, anf first floor.
•
Environmental Analysis
The Environmental Analysis has been mad by using the Autodesk Building Analysis Program (ECOTECT)
Sun Path In Sumner Solstice (21 June)

•
Structural design
Formulation the model into 3D using analysis program (SAP2000.v14.0)
The required materials which can satisfy the serviceability and safety of construction is:
The cylinder compressive strength at 28days, f'c=250kg/cm2
The yield strength of steel bars, fy=4200kg/cm2 (high strength steel).
•
Designs:
Dynamic Design Preliminary Design
Design slab Design of beam
Column design Design of Foundation
Design of stair case Design of pool
•
Structural Model Verification
Check Equilibrium
Compatibility Check
Check Stress Strain Relationship
Modal Mass Participation Ratio (MMPR) Check
•
Types of Footings:
Isolated(single footings):
It is used to support single columns; they are squared, rectangular, or circular shape. Footing maybe uniform thickness or have a sloped top, this is one of the most economical types of footings, and it used when columns are spaced at relatively long distance. The most commonly used are square footings with uniform thickness.
•
Steel design
Steel structures have many uses and applications in our life, for example:
Industrial/Parking structures “Frames”
Joists/Trusses
High rise buildings
Girder bridges
Truss bridges
Cable stayed & suspended bridges
Once we finish modeling on SAP2000, three checks must be made:
( checks will be performed on the 2D middle truss of length 21.5 )
Compatability: by inspection, the compatability was satisfied.
Equilibrium: the sum of forces acting must equal the sum of the forces on the supports in the same direction.
•
Design of connections
The maximum tension force in the bottom members = 445.1 KN which will be considered for the design.(the connection ID is 52)
