This graduation project is A solid waste management for Ramallah and Al-Bireh Governorate, we think this project is important because of its outputs , as this project is done , the disposal of the solid waste in Ramallah and Al-Bireh Governorate will be handled with in a an Environmental way that governs a good living environment for the people living there .
The main problem that we face is as follows:
A Land fill for solid waste disposal in Al-Bireh area was closed for political reasons by the Israeli Occupation Army , leading to have nowhere for the people who live in Al-Bireh to get rid of their solid waste . Because of this, this solid waste was thrown in a living areas, this leaded to a health and environmental effects on the humans.
What we will do in this project is as follows:
Design a Landfill for the disposal of solid waste , also design a good waste-transfer network for the solid waste from the Al-Bireh to the landfill, and study the environmental impact assessment (EIA) for the selection of the appropriate location for the establishment of sanitary waste landfill , and do a recycle process for the Recyclable waste. In addition to manual calculations, Computer programs will be used in the designation process such as (Geographic Information System - GIS).
So in our project and especially in part one, we are trying to do simulation to the expected solutions and mainly for the collection system of the waste in Al-Bireh city. On one hand, we state four different scenarios of collecting the waste, and we choose the most proper one to our situation.
And in part two of graduation project, we studied the environmental impact assessment (EIA) for the selection of the appropriate location for the establishment of sanitary waste landfill , and a design of the landfill, also do a recycle process for the Recyclable waste.
