This project was selected to serve the community to satisfy the needs related to social activities.

The project is considered relatively large covered space that will attract many of social, political, national and educational activities, such as national festivals, all types of conferences, workshops and nongovernmental organizations activities.

This project will serve not only all of the population in Nablus city, but it will serve all the villages in Nablus district, and it will receive guest groups from Palestine and other foreign countries. The built up areas of the building is about 7676 m2.

The building will be analyzed and designed using the primary principles of structural analysis and design by using one and three dimensional structural analysis using up to date structural analysis and design software's .

Moreover, a summary of the design principles of the different structural elements will be provided, such as beams, columns, shear walls and foundations.

Finally, practical design drawings will be introduced for implementation.

Data that has been provided to us from Nablus governorate was just images of plans (see appendix A), where it was lacking of AutoCAD files. These plans are studied and understood in the architectural and structural aspects. Through this study, it was found that it contains some problems, as it did not specify positions of columns properly. These plans have been re-drawn using AutoCAD software. Positions of columns and shear walls and boundary of the building have been determined in the final form.

This project is introduced in concrete construction, which aims to apply the theoretical knowledge in practical applications through analysis and design of a Nablus Cultural Centre building. This has been done by using the primary principles of structural analysis and design methods. The building shall be analyzed and designed using three dimensional structural modelling with hand calculation verification. The analysis and design will be done using the analysis and design software Sap 2000 v 14.2.4. At last, practical AutoCAD drawings will be prepared.

The building is designed with an appropriate degree of safety, adequate durability and economy for construction.

Nablus Cultural Centre is located in a residential area in the southwest hills in Jerzim Mountain.

Area of the site is about 7500 m2 and it is surrounded by streets at the south, west and north sides. The cultural centre consists of five stories with different areas. The first three floors are basement, where basement three is a parking with an area 1495 m2, basement two is parking in addition of rooms for multi purposes, and with an area of 2347 m2. The rest of the floors are consisting of the main hall and other rooms for many uses.
The total built up area of the building is about 7676 m2.
