Abstract:
An office building which located in Ramallah city will be designed. this building includes  seven stories , with story high 3.5 m  except  the first story with 4 m  high, each story have (21.38x28.13) m dimensions .
The building will be first designed under a static load by both, hand calculation and SAP 2000 v.12 program, after that it will be designed for dynamic by exposing the building lateral load; finally the building will be redesigned by using shear walls.
The expected results that the values of shear and moment in dynamic design will be more than values in static, so the area of steel will be larger than the required steel in static analysis.
In special design in the building we will use shear walls   because it has many advantages like resistance of lateral load, shear load, earthquake and increase the stiffness of the building.
