 Abstract:

AL-Manar construction composed of seven stories office building. Each floor is composed of equal surface area of 1925 m2 with 3.5 meter height and long spans. The design loads for the floor (self weight included) and superimposed dead load (SDL) of 3 KN/ m2 to account for movable parturitions, ceiling panels, etc. and live load (LL) of 4KN/ m2.
The building will be first designed under static loads using SAP 2000 program , after that it will be analyze for dynamic ; the dynamic design include exposing the building to lateral load and investigate the changes , finally it will be designed based on soil structure interaction.
In the dynamic analysis the area of steel will be larger than that will be needed in static analysis. Also, the period of the structure will be large because the building consists of seven stories with long spans.
In soil structure interaction the beams and columns dimensions will change (the area of steel and dimensions well be larger) because the shear and moment diagrams will change if we take into consideration the soil structure interaction.
