This course covers the characteristics of rotor element, monorotors and multirotors, symmetric and asymmetric rotors, backward and forward whirl and the campbell diagram. This course also looks at the stability of rotating machines, the effects of internal and external damping and bearing and seals, the effects of rigid and elastic bearings, balancing, gyroscopic and aerodynamic effects and industrial applications such as the turbocharger, centrifugal compressor and steam turbine.
