Welcome Message from the Chairman

It is my pleasure to introduce you to the Department of Electrical Engineering in An-Najah University's Faculty of Engineering.

The electrical engineering department was established in 1993 with the main aim of providing skillful and competent engineers to meet the rising demands within the local community, in a broad range of electrical engineering disciplines, including Communication, Electronics, Machines, Power and Control Systems.

Since its establishment, the department has managed to achieve many important milestones, by following rigorous academic standards and ensuring continuous enhancement of learning effectiveness in the delivery of the department’s academic programs.

In March 2008, the program taught by the department was evaluated by a special UNDP committee and was awarded an excellent grade.

Today, the total number of enrolled students is in excess of 150. The students receive lectures by 16 highly-qualified members of staff and assisted by lab technicians.

A wide range of laboratories are available for the purpose of serving all the major specialisations offered within the department, including areas reserved and equipped for final year project students.

Students are awarded the bachelor degrees after completing a total of 165 credit hours, within a nominal period of five years. During their final year, students can follow one of three available paths. These provide the opportunity for respective students to specialise in communication systems, electrical power engineering and control systems.
