Engineer Farouq Halawa from ABET centre at Faculty of Engineering participates in Erasmus Mundus scholarship ( EPIC scheme) at Cardiff Metropolitan University in the UK.
Engineer Farouq Halawa from Quality and Accreditation Unit ( ABET centre ) in the Faculty of Engineering has recently participated in Erasmus Mundus scholarship ( Epic scheme) to pursue an administrative staff visit at Cardiff Metropolitan University in the UK. For a period of one month starting from the 16th of October 2013, Engineer Farouq has worked at Cardiff Metropolitan University in the field of Quality Assurance in Education. The visit aimed at exposing the staff of ABET centre to the Quality Standards in Education implemented in the UK, particularly at Cardiff Metropolitan University. Moreover, the visit aimed at showing the methods and tools implemented by the Faculty of Engineering at An-Najah National University to achieve ABET international standards of education. The visit culminated in reaching common grounds and mutual understanding of best practice in Quality in Education.
Dr. Ayham Jaaron, the chairman of ABET centre, has hailed the visit opportunity describing it as a beneficial experience for ABET centre and the Faculty of Engineering by being exposed to different perspectives and bringing about innovative ideas in the field of Quality in Education.
It’s worth mentioning that EPIC project, which is offered in cooperation with the scholarships unit at An-Najah National University, is one of Erasmus Mundus projects that aims to promote European higher education, to help improve and enhance the career prospects of students and to promote intercultural understanding through cooperation with third countries, in accordance with EU external policy objectives in order to contribute to the sustainable development of third countries in the field of higher education.
