Comminication Networking Lab

Department:
Telecommunication Engineering
Lab Technican:
Moneer Al-aghbar

The principles of Telecommunication Networking can be explained and demonstrated through laboratory experiments. Experiments cover an introduction to the Lab Instruments, how to connect Network cables, Connections and configurations of routers & switches &hubs, how to configure Bluetooth and Wi-Fi modules, simulation of GSM & Telephony systems, learning how to program GSM/GPRS/GPS module through AT-commands.

In this laboratory we aim:

·         To connect practice with theory.

·         To learn how to build and configure different types of telecommunication networks such as computer, telephony, wireless and mobile/cellular networks.

·         To practice on the laboratory devices.

·         To teach the students how they could make their own participation in group work.

Experiments that will take place are:

1.       Network Cables

2.        Simple Network

3.        TCP/IP Workstation Configuration, Telnet and FTP

4.        Wireless Networks configuration 802.11 b/g/n

5.        GSM Transmitting/Receiving part

6.        Phases of telephony connection

7.        Bluetooth discovery/ discoverability

8.        Connecting Bluetooth devices

9.        GPS Module Settings

10.    GSM/GPRS/GPS module, SMS-AT command

11.    GSM/GPRS/GPS module, connecting to the internet

12.    Wifi Module Programming
