Abdee is furniture factory located near Salfit. The factory has different problems with storing and arrangement techniques of raw material and finished products. Preliminary analysis shows that it may be resulted from poor facility layout, lack of good material handling system.
In order to achieve our objectives we will follow a clear methodology represented in the studying the current state of the Abdee factory. The team will study the processes and workflows, in order to analyze and understand the root problems and their causes. The team will also apply concepts learned in the courses of Facility Layout and Production Planning and other related courses to further improve the factory's operations.
Find a solution to these problems will improve storage capacity, utilization of the available space, and will providing flexibility in entering and leaving goads from warehouse. The work will design a system for collection relevant information about inventory levels, run a model of simulation that shows the way of operations and processes through workstations, and design new layout. As a result of our work the storage will be effectively deliver the ordered amount in the right and easiest way, and come out with new layout, that facilitates the flow of raw materials and operation through the factory processes, which leads to helping achieving the goals of Abdee factory.
