In this project, we developed a water billing system. A system that computes the amount of water a user consumes daily at home, sends this reading once a month to The agency responsible for water bills. Water Agency is responsible for the database management and sending the bill back to the user electronically by email.
We build this system by using two pic microcontrollers one at user part and another at agency part the user pic is tied with a photo interrupter sensor that counts the amount of water consumed then this reading is sent wirelessly to the other pic by the home-side PIC. The server PIC is tied with a server that stores and calculates bills of users.
This system replaces a hardcopy bill with a software copy. And makes a no need for an employee to come around for checking the reading.
