Nowadays, the technology became involved in everything in our life, because the development in the technology has a lot of advantages, it is making our life easier than before and it save a lot of time, which we can use it in another useful places. When we are talking about the technology, we must refer to the important technology in this century, which are the wireless telecommunication network and its applications. Wireless communication technology has been evolving rapidly; bringing about an emergence of a wide range of new wireless applications and services. It has brought convenience to our daily life by eliminating the use of wires and reducing installation costs.

So, we use wireless technology and its features with android application on smart phone to control our home and to make the reach on anything in our home much easier without spending a lot of money to buy a solution, so we started with Arduino, android mobile phone (smart phone), some relays and home.

Also In this project we are looking for a way that allow all people including handicapped people to use our application, if we think about handicapped people we  find that the wireless home automation is the best way to make them serving themselves by themselves without waiting for a help from any one .

As the world gets more and more technologically advanced, we find new technology coming in deeper and deeper into our personal lives even at home. Home automation is becoming more and more popular around the world and is becoming a common practice.

Most advanced home automation systems in existence today require a big and expensive change of infrastructure. This means that it often is not feasible to install a home automation system in an existing building.

The Home Automation is a wireless home automation system that is supposed to be implemented in existing home environments, without any changes in the existing infrastructure. Home Automation lets the user to control his home from his or her computer. In the computer program the user can create actions that should happen with electrical devices in the network depending on the sensors sensing surrounding environment.

Let's take some examples of Home Automation: using a remote control to turn on a light across the room or unlocking the front door as you pull into the driveway are examples of using home automation, logging in from your computer at work to view your home security cameras are also examples of using home automation. Home automation includes anything that gives you remote or automatic control of the electronics inside it.

Home automation refers to the use of Telecommunication and information technology to control home appliances and features (such as windows or lighting). We adopted this project for reasons of ease of use by users, security and energy efficiency. Our project divided into three parts which are: Design the command transmitter and its application which is android application depends on Wi-Fi technology, Design the core circuit and Peripheral circuits, and finally Design telecommunication network to connect the task to the destination by Wi-Fi technology.

First, we wrote an android application by using Java language as a transmitter (client) to send commands to microcontroller to implement certain actions and return acknowledgment to android to make sure that the action done or not. We designed the layouts of this application according to the nature of the house in terms of the number of floors, number of rooms, gardens, etc…

Second, we configured the wireless network, IP address and wireless home coverage in order to be connected in all part of the home to reach the destination

Third, we programmed the Arduino microcontroller to direct the action to specific destination and return the feedback and sensors’ read from specific destination to the client at the same time. There are two paths to reach the destination which are wired using wires and wireless using ZigBee technology.

Finally, we designed a small house as a simulation of our project and put all devices together in one place and did several tests and amendments to make the project as accurate as possible and at the end we achieved what we planned.
