Within the near future, pneumatic tube will be indispensable means of transport. Apart from transporting a variety of payloads quickly and safely, they offer many important advantages, as for instance cost saving, pneumatic tube systems ensure that qualified personal will not lose valuable time running errands. They also provide higher efficiency since clients will not have to wait any longer in unoccupied departments. And last but not least, they provide for more safety, transporting everything, money, documents or hazardous materials.

So we need to handle the materials and transport it between stations quickly and safely. This project is an idea for automated transporting and a method (modern method) of material handling.

The project should cover an effective method to transport payloads; also it must be easy for using.

The main objective for this project is to solve internal logistic problems that means material handling and transporting from one station to another inside the same building, or to the near buildings.

Also this idea will decrease the cost of transporting and increase the safety. In addition, it is user-friendly and inexpensive to maintain, compared with another methods of material handling or using of human worker for transportingpayloads inside buildings.

This project will use pneumatic tubes to transport payloads and the air pressure to push these payloads inside the tubes. Some types of controllers will be used to control the gates. The tubes are able for using as ONE WAY Operation or TWO WAY Operation.

In our university this is the first time of trying to implement project like this and to apply the idea of using pneumatic tubes for transporting. Also this is a new idea in our country Palestine.

But there are many similar applications available around the world, such as transporting of Cash in markets and banks, transporting goods and products in factories and these projects are commonly used in hospitals.

Today in Palestine there is a similar application (project) will be available at the university hospital, (An-Najah National University Hospital).
