The separations and applications of essential oils exist in herbal plants (Rosemary, Marjoram, Chives and Parsley) are considered in this project. The most popular method which used to extract these oils is the extraction by using different devices such as Soxhlet extractor, Shaker and water bath and by mixer. The main results achieved in this project is that the suitable solvent used in the extraction is n-hexane but their some warnings in it's used since it is poisonous, flammable and more expensive than other solvents used such as ethanol and ethyl acetate. The medical uses of the active ingredients and their some applications in cosmetics are presented as well.
