Many practical problems are classified as hard problems. Heuristic search techniques are proven to be the most relevant technique to tackle such problems. This course will introduce and discuss heuristic optimization techniques such as Genetic algorithms, Taboo search, simulated annealing and particle swarm. Students will use heuristic optimization techniques to solve hard problem to gain hands-on experience.
