In this course students will study the properties of optical fibers which include refractive index, attenuation, chromatic dispersion, and laser and LED optical repeater desig, fiber optic networks also will be examined, as well as long haul communications systems, local distribution, LANs, and inter- and intra-building applications and fiber optic systems management including security. Fault detection and repair issues are discussed.
