Program Objectives and Student Outcomes

Program Goals:

The Main Goal of the CIS program is to meet the needs of the Palestinian People in the various disciplines of Information Technology. More specifically, our Goals are:    

  1. To provide the local and global market with IT skilled graduates specialized in software development systems. 
  2. To contribute in the development of human knowledge in the different fields of Information Technology. 
  3. To integrate Information Technology into Local Organizations and to contribute in solving economic, managerial, administrative and financial  problems.
  4. To establish close relations with the Palestinian Society, particularly with regard to advanced IT courses and in the training of personnel in the Palestinian Businesses.
  5. To encourage Scientific Research in the field of Computerized Information Systems.
  6. To provide IT Professionals who are necessary for the Software Industry in Palestine.

 

Programs Outcomes:

Student outcomes are outcomes (a) through (k) plus any additional outcomes that may be articulated by the program.

  • An ability to apply knowledge of mathematics, science, and engineering
  • An ability to design and conduct experiments, as well as to analyze and interpret data
  • An ability to design a system, component, or process to meet desired needs within realistic constraints such as economic, environmental, social, political, ethical, health and safety, manufacturability, and sustainability
  • An ability to function on multidisciplinary teams
  • An ability to identify, formulate, and solve engineering problems
  • An understanding of professional and ethical responsibility
  • An ability to communicate effectively
  • The broad education necessary to understand the impact of engineering solutions in a global, economic, environmental, and societal context
  • A recognition of the need for, and an ability to engage in life-long learning
  • a knowledge of contemporary issues
  • An ability to use the techniques, skills, and modern engineering tools necessary for engineering practice.
