The main goal of this project is to process Palestine olive wood in such away to be applied in the construction of the body of ‘’Oud’’ Arab music instruments.
There are no scientific researches until now about this subject .this project serves some educational and national purposes by using Palestinian product to manufacture internationally well-known music instruments.
The project aims to treat the wood slabs drying in a tube dryer to remove the moisture from the wood and to boost the sound quality, in addition this wood slabs re coated by shellac layer to preserve the wood and to enhance the sound properties as well.
Drying has been carried out on the several types of Woods slaps, namely, olive, beech and walnut. The sound properties such as wavelengths, amplitude as frequencies are evaluated by MATLAP program.
The dried and coated olive wood slab has shown improved sound property .the best sound properties are taken when the coating material is 0.4g the increasing or decreasing amount of coating contributed to poor sound properties.
