This research project aims to assess the runoff generation in Wadi Abu-Nar that is located within Tulkarem Governorate in the north western part of the west Bank. Accordingly, the potential of adopting RWH techniques to enhance the availability of water in the Wadi, which characterized as semi-arid region, will be evaluated. GIS-based SCS-CN method will be applied to estimate potential runoff generation in the Wadi.

Utilizing RWH techniques in Wadi Abu-Nar will have a double positive effect as on one hand it will serve the marginal areas, which are not served by local water distribution network; and on the other hand it will halt the problems related to the frequent flood at the Wadi outlet, which caused a death of many people. The implementation of RWH techniques in the Wadi is envisaged to support any governmental policy shifts towards wide spread adoption of RWH in the West Bank.

In arid and semi-arid regions, the availability of adequate water of appropriate quality has become a limiting factor for development. Dry spells are a direct consequence of spatial and temporal variability of rainfall, and these jeopardize the replenishment of different water resources in the West Bank, Palestine.
