The Nablus Municipality Cultural Center (i.e. HamdiManko) is the most important cultural center in Nablus. It is located in the western side of Nablus city (near Jamal Abdel Nasser mutanazah), and was founded in 1996 by a grant from the Palestinian businessman Mr. Hamdi Manko, supported by AL Ta’awon Organization and the Municipality of Nablus and was completed in 2004. The importance of the center manifested in its diverse programs, projects and activities that meet the needs of children, youth and families in Nablus.
The Vision of the Center:
To develop and enrich the energies and capabilities of the various segments of the local community, by promoting cultural, scientific and creative activities that would reach every home in Nablus.
The Goals of the Center:
1.
Publishing awareness, cultural, scientific and innovation in society.
2.
Raise levels of intellectual and cultural capabilities in community in order to face the policy of obliteration, mutilation and forgery that are exposed to culture.
3.
The advancement of the cultural sector, the art and literary in Nablus.
4.
The development of the volunteer is spirit among young people and provide them with a platform to express their opinions and ideas freely.
5.
Discover and develop talents and abilities in children and young people.
6.
Enhance child -development through programs and activities that develop their character and leadership skills.
7.
Providing a safe place for kids to use in leisure time in a positive way.
8.
Promote the concept of partnership with community-based organizations, local and international that responds to the goals of the center.
9.
Strengthening the role of women in planning, implementation and participation.
10.
Integration of marginalized groups and people of special needs in programs, projects and activities of the Centre.
11.
Help to preserve the cultural heritage of the Palestinians and the revival of folklore, customs and traditions.
