Al-Thuraya building is a multi-story building of seven stories. These stories produce heavy loads above the soil, also this building is relatively heavy if we compared it with the ordinary building, so the design of the footing will be more critical and needs special care and attention.

This project is sorted as very important project in his type cause of there are many problems like soil weakness, so during study this project we will achieved the way that helped us to solve these problems.

The most important thing in this project is how to improve the soil and how to choose the type of foundation in low cost and high quality.

In the beginning we must get the soil test to know the mixture of soil and how to deal with it, and then calculate the loads from building on the soil to know if this soil is able to carry the building or not, finally choose the suitable foundation.

This project is not unique, there are many project like it which contains the same problems, and the reasons for that is decreasing the areas of building which motivate the investors to use the agricultural lands.
