1.1 Objectives of the Studies

       This research project aims to asses and redesign of the existing WDN. In light of the above, the following objectives will be considered:-

1. 

Assess the existing WDN, conveyance pipeline and storage reservoir.

2. 

Design new WDN to solve the existing problems.

3. 

Design a WDN to satisfy the future population growth.

4. 

Design a conveyance pipeline from the water supply to the village reservoir.

5. 

Assess and redesign the existing storage reservoir.

 

1.2 Methodology

      To achieve the objectives of this research study, firstly research needs and objectives were defined. The first step carried out in this project was collecting information and reliable data, such as AUTOCAD DRAWING.

     The data were collected include the description of Asira characterization like geography, topography, climate, geology, soil, land use, rainfall, runoff, infiltration and WDN.

   The collected data were analyzed and processed using Excel, then We draw the network using AOUTOCAD software, this is the most important and critical step since the network drowned by AutoCAD determine the shape of network and it be used for analysis using WATERCAD  software.                                                                                                               

    Drawing the WDN is a continuous loop because it is need to check by the final shape of the network using WATERCAD and from this we can determine the location of the problems in the network, and then bake to AutoCAD software we can fix the problem, and then going again to WATERCAD and check the network, this process takes a few cycles to obtain the final acceptable shape of the WDN.

    When the WDN has the final shape, the network analysis began, and this analysis process needs data to be ready, and the most important one is the demand.  The demand calculation needs a data that was obtained from made polygon on Water Cad and calculation number of houses that take from the node.

The next step is to design the conveyance pipeline that connects the Wadi Al-Badan well with the reservoir of Asira village.

Next step find the results and analysis. Then design for future, and the last step write conclusion and recommendation.
