Penetration of Bitumious Materials

     This test is used to get aquainted with the penetration  of bituminous materials and semi solid materials having value below 350 .But, the penetration in this test is best defined as the consistency of bituminous materials expressed as the distance in tenths of millimeter that a standard needle vertically penetrates a sample of material under known conditions of loading time and tempreture .

Standard  : ASTM D5 – 73      ,   AASHTO T49

•  Standard penetrometer with automatic
• controller and micrometer vertical adjustment.

  • Thermometer -8 to +32°C range,
  • Glass transfer dish with support 100 mm dia., 75 mm high
  • Sample cup, dia. 55x35 mm.
